Canal Street Entergy Substation
The substation pictured is located on Canal Street near the French Quarter amid Harrah's Casino, Audubon Aquarium, and Canal Place (Westin Hotel, luxury mall, and office complex). A replacement modern compact substation would eliminate "wirescape" in this tourist ncorridor. Far right: an artist conception of a waterfall park on the site once the substation is relocated.

Proposed Project
Convention Center Boulevard Special Improvement District
A half mile of towers and lines connect this substation to another substation located near the Convention Center. The electric transmission system wirescapes the main tourist corridor connecting Canal Street and the New Orleans Convention Center. A special improvement district as proposed below would not only beautify this area but also provide resiliency against storms.
